Recording
Recording, or “tracking” in the industry, is more than just putting up mics. It’s finding the right microphone, the right place for it, in the right room to make sure your project sounds its best. Each microphone or instrument output gets its own track, hence the name, that records something unique. We specialize in keeping technology out of your way and helping draw out your best possible performance in a comfortable, friendly environment; letting you focus on what you do best.
-
Editing/Tuning
Whether you want your project to have a modern, radio-ready sound, or an organic, natural feel, we can make some small changes to your tracks that will have an enormous impact. Cutting out times when you’re not performing, compiling your best performances from multiple takes, nudging small timing inconsistencies, massaging notes back into tune, and phase-aligning tracks can all bring your recording to the next level. Whether it’s minor tweaks or dramatic pitch and time quantization, our editing process makes sure your recordings fit the style and vibe you want.
-
Mixing
Once your tracks have been edited it’s time to put them together. Mixing is the process of combining the tracks to make the best presentation of your ideas. We work hard to make sure every individual track sounds great while simultaneously fitting them together to make a cohesive whole. From subtle nuances to exaggerated and stylized, our mixes showcase your art and all the hard work you’ve put into them.
-
Mastering
Once a mix is finished, mastering is how we get it ready for your audience. In addition to perfecting the loudness [and overall sonic quality] of your mix, we also ensure that your mixes are ready for streaming, CDs, vinyl, video content, tracks for live performances, or however else your audience will hear them. We also make sure that the mixes you’re releasing together sound like they belong together; mastering is what turns a collection of mixes into an album, EP, or single.

Tape Baking
Some older audio tapes were made with an adhesive that breaks down over time and releases the tape’s iron oxide that holds your audio. Fortunately, we can reverse this with our specialized tape baking process that makes the adhesive flexible and strong again. If you’re considering tape transfers, ask one of our engineers if your tape needs baking.
